  1. Ruth Hardwicke Says:

Do to a conflict we will not be able to attend this meeting. We agree there is a great need for improvement to the Ogden/Middle Sound Area allowing greater safety. Several years ago we were told there would be a bike trail completed for the entire Middle Sound Road but we only received a partial one at that time. Middle Sound Road now has more joggers, walkers and bikers than this original installation and this is an accident waiting to happen when competing with the increased vehicular traffic. There is definitely a need for our area to have a safe place to move around without fear of being hit by a motor vehicle. Thank you for having this meeting to hear our concerns and for your time and service.

    Sincerely, Ruth and Sid Hardwicke

We were unable to attend the meeting as well. Can you update us on what was discussed? Nothing would make me happier than to see a sidewalk / multi use path for the MIddle Sound area.

In short- ground will break on a path from Red Cedar to Ogden Elementary sometime in the near future (12 months). It is funded by a Safe Routes to School grant. Other items in the works are a better connection to the Military Cutoff Trail (via Covil Farms Rd improvements) and a possible connection of trails/roads from Middle Sound to Bayshore and Porters Neck.
